Gate Key Pads and Static Electricity:
Occasionally, calls come into the gate department regarding the keypads giving guest an electrical shock.
This is a release of STATIC or a natural build up of electrons (negative charge) from a person in a moving vehicle (friction). After being in motion or causing friction, touching an object, like the key pad, releases the static build up from a person to the object they touch. In the summer, the air is more humid, and static electricity does not build up as much as during the winter, when the air is very dry.
To avoid a shock, use a pencil to enter the numbers in the key pad or purchase a remote control. Please warn your guest so they will not be caught off guard.
Access Codes, Remote Controls and Gate Operation Information.
Key Pad System Time Out:
More than 2 inaccurate attempts to enter a code into the entry key pad will cause the access system to "time-out" for several minutes. Please enter the code carefully and if the system times out, it will need a few minutes to reset.
Is your remote control access new to you?
If you were given the access code or a remote control from the previous homeowner, you will need to be issued a new code and have the remote control reprogrammed to function. Please allow 48 hours for the system to refresh.
